Abstract

The process of sedimentation in streams can cause siltation of rivers resulting in the overflow of water to the surface. Sedimentation is occurred in huge quantity at the confluence of two rivers. Meanwhile, mathematical modeling using the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) is an alternative that can be used for this problem. Because it does not require mesh or grid in its solution domain. Therefore, it is very useful to moving issues such as sedimentation. To visualize the result, we apply Matlab software. From the numerical simulation, we obtain that river streams will show that the speed of the river will increase the speed in the arc stream which can allow scour on the bow river. At the confluence, the velocity vector will increase and forming a vortex result of the convergence of two rivers vectors different directions. Thus, large-small lateral velocity has a great influence on the depth of the river, the flow velocity and height of sedimentation on the main river. In addition, mathematical modeling for the output stream sedimentation will be applied to construct a volume river sedimentation.
