Abstract

The Bawean Island is one area of Gresik, East Java, Indonesia. Bawean is an island that have two district. They are the District Sangkarpura and the District Tambak. The population in the two district is farmers and fishermen, the few is Labor in Malaysia and Singapore. In Bawean they are have several cow population and the cow has resulted the biogas energy. The biogas energy can be powered the electric generator. The Selection of generator sets is done is based on the needs of the existing electric power amounting to 39,523.3 kW for every day. From this calculation, the gain generator sets that can be used to supply electric power for people in Bawean. In this study will calculate how much power can be generated by biogas energy from cow manure to meet the electricity needs and how many homes are well supplied by electricity from biogas energy. After calculating the amount of power to be gained there, the calculation is performed with the ratio between the volume of biogas that can be produced per day with a fuel consumption of generator sets that exist. In this study show multi generator sets, then will be selected in terms of fuel consumption that meets or according to the number of existing biogas.
