Abstract

Coconut shell as the main ingredient in this study were converted into charcoal. The resulted sample coconut shell charcoal was used as a powder and heated at 400oC with holding time variations of each heating for 3, 4 and 5 hours in order to obtain the phase r-GO. After heating, the powder was dissolved into 50 ml of distilled water. They were coated on the glass substrates using a spin-coating method. Furthermore, this study characterizations using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) were conducted for all samples. Based on the treatments and characterizations, the data on samples of powder XRD results showed peaks of samples r-GO, which was at position 2-theta around 25o and 43o. Then, film r-GO from coconut shell had been successfully coated on the glass substrate. This was evidenced by the analysis of the test mapping SEM-EDX.
